Here's What It's Really Like To Sleep At Olympic Village!

The Olympics returns in 2 weeks, super excited to cheer on Team USA!

But when it comes to nighttime accommodations, athletes say the vibe is more “college dorm” than “luxury hotel.”

The curiosity about what athlete bedrooms are actually like was brought to our attention during Tokyo, when social media was flooded with videos of these special beds built to keep the athletes from hooking up…and yup, these beds are back again in Paris.

They are tiny twin-sized beds made of cardboard…so they can’t withstand much…activity.

This year, the big controversy was that air conditioning was missing from Olympic Village setups (until Team USA announced they’d be bringing their own.)

It’s not necessarily quiet at night - You’re living in a dorm where you can hear through the walls; it’s a tiny bed, and you’re sharing a bathroom with six people.

There are probably some hook-ups still happening but the Olympians that were interviewed for this article didn’t spill.

Parties happen and they are all on different schedules. Some teams like the swimmers may be done competing and party all night long… while others are just beginning to compete and need to sleep! (again, dorm life)
