Living in SoCal, we are all very familiar with the sound of a sizzling skillet of fajitas being delivered from the kitchen by a server. And we’re all a little jealous, right? We all kind of wish we had gotten the fajitas.
But according to a new viral video, that sizzle we hear when you order fajitas is FAKE!!!!! I don’t know how I feel about this!
A TikTok posted a few weeks ago showing the apparent secret behind the fajita sizzle has gone viral and in the video, a restaurant worker can be seen squeezing a bottle of what appears to be plain water onto a hot fajita skillet to create that recognizable SOUND and plume of billowing smoke.
And then the server walks the skillet out to the table and that is the sizzle we see! When it is delivered to our table!
It’s an artificial sizzle! They just put water on the hot pan. It’s not the food cooking!
Our whole lives it’s been a lie! Am I the only one that didn’t know about this????
I feel duped!
