Is it just me or have the Spam Likely calls been insane lately? It’s like half the time my phone rings, it’s a bot.
Well, Dan Graham, a CPA from Texas decided to make some money off of it…and apparently we can too.
He actually made over $105,000 so far…by suing them! And this is how he did it…
First, put your phone number on the National Do Not Call Registry, he says. It takes 30 days. Easy. It’s just a web site.
Then, start taking the calls to find out the business that's really calling.
Graham says he then reaches out to the company to ask them to stop the illegal practice. He says some respond and actually do stop.
But when they don't, he sues them in small claims court for violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
Settlements range from $500 to thousands of dollars, depending on how many times they've called.
Despite his success, Graham says there has been NO DECREASE in the calls he receives….so he’s just going to keep suing!
