Hallmark Giving Away 1 Million Free Cards For Love Notes Amid COVID-19

Father's Day Cards Sit On Shelf

So much of the world is in the same boat right now - stuck in doors, practicing social distancing and missing out spending time with friends and family during birthdays, minor holidays, or just every day life!

Hallmark decided they wanted to step up and help people connect in a way we all need now more than ever: loving notes and cards to each other. Even if we can't be together physically, it doesn't mean we can't be there for each other in some way.

Hallmark has announced they're giving away 1 million cards to people around the country so that they have something to write to their loved ones with.

If you have had to quarantine in a location far from your friends or family, or even if you're close to each other but can't be spending time together right now, then you definitely want to keep reading.

Lindsey Roy, the CMO of Hallmark, talked to PEOPLE about why they decided to launch this initiative right now: “It’s important to stay connected to those we love, even when we can’t be physically together... Many of us have loved ones isolated alone at home or in a senior care center who are unable to feel the physical presence of their loved ones — something we all need to thrive."

She continued with, "Right now, we can send them a paper hug, and wrap them with caring words and encouragement."

I don't know about you guys, but I would absolutely accept a paper hug right now! I've had to stay away from my family throughout this entire thing, and it's really hard! I just wish I could have my parents with me every day now more than ever.

And getting these cards is so easy. Hallmark set up a special "Care Enough" website where you can sign up to receive a free pack of 3 cards!

Then all you have to do is decide who you want to make your quarantine pen pals and write them notes to brighten their days. And by the way, you could always use these cards to write messages to staff at local hospitals, or to retirement centers where residents may not be able to see many visitors during the outbreak.

Happy writing!
