Being a mom is a lot of work, no matter how many kids you have. Being a working mom is even more work because you're juggling the kids and your job and everything going on. For me, I don't know the difference between having one kid and having two because my two came at the same time!
But Carrie Underwood became a mom for the second time this past January when she welcomed her son Jacob Bryan Fisher and she recently opened up about what life with two kids is like versus one.
And let's just say, she quickly realized that you just can't plan for it all when you have two kids.
Carrie just kicked off her Cry Pretty Tour, which means she's taking the whole "working mom" thing on the road as well. But she doesn't think her working mom life is any different from any other working mom:
“Everything that we all do is just as difficult but in different ways."
She continued that while she admittedly gets tired from balancing everything, she is thankful for it all.
“How many people get to take their children to work with them?”
While talking with Natalie Morales from TODAY, she also talked about the experiences she has had since being open with the world about the difficulties she had getting pregnant a second time.
“I’ve definitely had people come up to me on the street and just cry and just say, ‘It’s nice to know that somebody knows what it feels like.'"
And Carrie can relate to moms in so many ways - like the fact that once you have two kids, you stop being able to plan everything, and you just have to live a little more in the moment.
“And there’s no way you can plan for everything or make everything be the way you want it. So it’s been good for me to just kind of be present, and live in the moment and stop trying so hard to plan out the entire rest of my life.”
True. That.
We can't plan it all, as much as we want to! Just think about when I took Aiza to a bridal shower and she threw up all over me... I certainly didn't plan for that! Life happens with two kids, and you just roll with it.
