Dax Shepard almost wasn't part of the show we all fell in love with him from, Parenthood! Listen to THIS. When Dax was first offered the part he was JUST starting to date his now wife, Kristen Bell. He really didn't want the distance to hurt the relationship while he was filming. The show was shooting in Philadelphia and he said there was no way he can be in the relationship and move to Philly.
But, when he was offered the role in Parenthood, he hadn't acted in a long time so he wasn't really getting any other offers left and right. Yet he decided to turn down the role, which was the FIRST time he ever turned a show down in his life.
Don't worry though, this is the part where it was meant to be. Turned out the show changed the shooting location to Los Angeles, so he was able to accept the role after all and continue to grow his relationship with Kristen.
