The Internet Is Divided: What's the Correct Way to Shower?

When you’re in the shower, how do you wash your body? A washcloth? A loofah? A sponge? Or your hands? The internet is divided but here's what a dermatologist says:

WASHCLOTH: It's best to use a new washcloth EVERY time you shower. After each use, wring the water out and hang it in a dry place to prevent bacterial growth and wash them regularly as well.

LOOFAH: Great for exfoliating, but can be a breeding ground for bacteria when they sit in a moist shower and never really dry. They should be machine washed weekly and changed out every few weeks.

NET SPONGES (like a Loofah but looser and with bigger holes): Also have exfoliating benefits, but can be too harsh on the skin. But because they dry faster they can be used longer. Even up to 2 years.

HANDS: Convenient, cost-effective and gentle on the skin and though they do not exfoliate the bottom line is most experts say you should use YOUR HANDS.
