It's official...the Los Angeles Zoo is reopening!
The LA Zoo is reportedly reopening to the public on August 26th after months of being closed.
The zoo closed its gates earlier this year on March 13. Here is what you can expect for your return to the beloved zoo:
- You can expect an online reservation-based ticketing system.
- Face coverings and limited capacity will be implemented and required.
- Enhanced cleaning procedures for high-contact surfaces.
- Additional hand sanitizer stations throughout the zoo.
- New traffic flows and pathways to allow for physical distancing, or as zoo officials call it, keeping a "komodo dragon's length apart"
- Temporary suspension of presentations and events
- Indoor exhibits and high-touch areas throughout the zoo, including Papiano Playpark, the Tom Mankiewicz Conservation Carousel and the contact yard at the Winnick Family Children's Zoo, will remain closed.
