If you use Ontario Airport (SoCal) for your travels, and regularly take an Uber service there, here is some important news.
Beginning Friday night (12:00 AM), travelers will no longer be able to call an Uber ride to or from Ontario International Airport. Why? The airport raised operational fees for all ride-sharing companies from $3 to $4 for each drop-off or pickup.
This announcement was made back in August. KTLA reports that the decision was made after a nearly two-year assessment that compared ride-hailing prices at airports across Southern California.
KTLA adds that Uber hoped to have a "meaningful dialogue" with airport officials before terminating its services on Sept. 13. Their decision to end services at OIA was to prevent passing on those fees to riders.
As of now, Lyft will continue to operate at the airport.
