'The Tonight Show' Will Host Hurricane Relief Episode In Puerto Rico

The Tonight Show' Starring Jimmy Fallon will be hosting a hurricane relief episode from Puerto Rico to celebrate Lin-Manuel Miranda reprising his role as Alexander Hamilton for 24 performances of Hamilton.

Why? Lin-Manuel Miranda wants to bring the hit-show, Hamilton, to Puerto Rico in hopes of shedding light on the festive spirit and rich culture of Puerto Rico in the wake of the devastating hurricane that struck the island in September 2017.

The special episode will feature Miranda and a special Hamilton performance, along with the new Puerto Rico touring cast airing.

The Puerto Rican Hamilton run will take over the U.S. territory from Jan. 8-27, 2019, at the Teatro UPR in San Juan. All proceeds will benefit Miranda's nonprofit, Flamboyan Arts Fund, which aims to strengthen arts and education in Puerto Rico.
