The next generation of musicians may have a chance at financial assistance from the legendary Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation.
The foundation is accepting applications from music students who hope to receive a scholarship, overall totaling $700,000.
Senior Vice President of Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation, Manolo Díaz, announced the scholarship opportunities, adding:
“Talented music students between the ages of 17-24 years old with financial constraints, admitted to the university of their choice and interested in Latin music are eligible to apply,” the Foundation announced. The funding is part of the Foundation’s “effort to foster and support the next generation of talented musicians, who will continue the legacy of Latin music and its significant contribution to the world's culture.”
According to Billboard, two types of scholarships will be offered:
The first is a "Three Gifted Tuition Scholarships" of $25,000 annually for four years (maximum of $100,000). Only valid for students pursuing a Bachelor's Degree.
The second is the "Forty Tuition Assistance Scholarships" which will be awarded to students pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a maximum allotment of $10,000 each. This one is only valid for one year of study.
Díaz, The Senior Vice President, also added:
“We are pleased once again to help provide talented students with financial constraints a quality music education. Our work is more relevant than ever as Latin music continues to grow and captivate audiences worldwide."
Students who are interested must apply by the deadline of April 10, 2019.
