Instagram is taking posting 'stories' to the next level with the addition of its 'music' feature!
For those of you who didn't know, the popular social media site, Instagram, is owned by Facebook. Facebook has put in a ton of work into licensing deals with music labels, and all that work is finally starting to show.
Instagram made the announcement yesterday following the news that more than 400 million users are now using stories everyday. The new music functionality allows users to pick tracks to feature in their posts and select what bit of the song they want to use. This new feature not only makes Instagram more competitive against Snapchat, but it will make everyone's stories so much cooler.
Users can select your music before they record their video, leaving users free to lip-sync along with it. This probably means you'll see your friends posting silly videos of them lip-syncing more often.
The ability to add music is now available on the platform’s iOS app in “selected countries” and it promises an update to its Android app “soon”. The library on Instagram's new feature is impressive and includes a wide-variety of your favorite hits.
Can't wait to see what people post. What are your guys' thoughts on this new feature?
