If you rent from Airbnb, you soon won't have to do those cleaning chores during your checkout! According to KTLA 5, Airbnb is revamping "its pricing strategies and the guest checkout experience."
After receiving complaints about hidden fees, Airbnb said that they are going to work harder on making pricing more transparent. This will start in December and there will be a new filter option where travelers can see the total price of the rental (before taxes) instead of the normal nightly price. The other change Airbnb is making is with the guest experience checkout where hosts won't be able to make the guests do labor-intense chores such as vacuuming or doing laundry. Instead, the guests can do just light cleaning and housekeeping tasks such as throwing away food or turning off the lights.
