One SoCal city has beaten Los Angeles out for highest rapidly rising rent, according to a new report.

Big cities in the West Coast have experienced a "relatively sluggish rent growth", Zumper reported Tuesday.

However, one Southern California city has bucked the trend to become one of the most rapidly rising rent growth cities in the United States.

Which city is it? San Diego!

According to Zumper, over the course of the pandemic, San Diego's median one-bedroom rent is up 32.8 percent.

"San Diego’s post-pandemic rental pattern more closely resembles markets in the middle of the U.S. than those on the coasts. During the first year of the pandemic, San Diego’s median one-bedroom rent didn’t move, but began rising rapidly in May 2021," said the report by Zumper.

San Diego leapt over both San Jose and Los Angeles after a 4.8 percent month-over-month rise in April.

According to Zumper, San Diego was the 10th ranked highest rent city and now it comes in at number 5 on its list.

Los Angeles fell to number 7 on the list with a median rent of $2,250 for a one-bedroom apartment.
