According to KTLA, California's budget surplus could mean residents will receive $1,100 stimulus checks in 2022! State Senator Brian Jones said:

“If each grain of rice is $100,000, that means California’s $45 billion surplus is taxes over-collected by this much,”

State Senator said the surplus amount would be enough to give every California a $1,125 tax rebate or $4,000 for a family of 4. You could see another California Golden State Stimulus check in 2022, becuase the surplus may exceed the Gann Limit. "That essentially restricts the amount of tax revenue the state can spend while giving lawmakers options on what to do with the leftover funds — including giving it back to taxpayers in the form of a rebate. That essentially restricts the amount of tax revenue the state can spend while giving lawmakers options on what to do with the leftover funds — including giving it back to taxpayers in the form of a rebate."
