Elon Musk Announced His Plan On What Twitter Will Charge For Verification

Yesterday it was rumored that Twitter could start charging users $19.99/month to have that blue check mark on their account. Today Elon Musk announced that the social media platform will start charging users who are verified $8/month.

“Twitter’s current lords and peasants system for who has or doesn’t have a blue checkmark is bulls–t,” Musk tweeted. “Power to the people! Blue for $8/month.”

Musk also said that the price would change depending on the "country proportionate to purchase power parity" and the payment will be helpful so users can have priority in replies, mentions and search to help defeat the spam/scam. The blue check mark will also come with perks by allowing the verified users to post longer videos and audio onto Twitter. As of right now, Musk has not revealed when the charges will begin nor if the $19.99 charge is completely out of thought for the blue check mark. Click here for more.
