Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale is one of the world’s most prolific sports bettors. Over the past five months, he’s also one of the worst.
Mack’s seven-figure bets have made repeated headlines over the past few years. Lately, he’s been wrong on all of them. There was $3.6 million riding on the Astros to win the World Series this past year against the Atlanta Braves. He threw down more than $6 million on Alabama to win the 2022 College Football Playoff.
This is not looking so great for the underdog Cincinnati Bengals since McIngvale hasn't had great luck with sports teams lately. McIngvale opted to place a $4.5 million wager on the AFC’s representative to win straight-up at Super Bowl 56 as a 4.5-point underdog.
If it hits on this bet, he’ll win more than $7.7 million.
