At Escape Halloween 2025, electronic producer and multi-instrumentalist Gryffin delivered one of the weekend’s most euphoric performances a set filled with soaring melodies, vibrant visuals, and signature emotional energy. Before his set, Gryffin sat down to talk about his creative process, his latest album, and what’s on the horizon for 2026. Gryffin’s most recent album has been on heavy rotation for fans and for good reason. When asked about its creation, he revealed that it marked a turning point in his musical journey.
“I’d been making emotionally driven music for a long time,” Gryffin explained. “But with this project, I wanted to do something different — something more conceptual, centered around dance and club energy.”
Immersing himself in new sounds and tempos, Gryffin said the album was “refreshing” to make and reignited his passion for experimentation.
“It still felt like me,” he said, “just through a different lens. It was inspiring to explore new ideas while staying true to who I am as an artist.”
One of the standout tracks from the project is “Here,” a collaboration with acclaimed songwriter Julia Michaels. Gryffin called working with her “super special.”
“She’s incredibly talented,” he said. “Julia’s written so many massive records, and her ability to capture emotion is unreal.”
He revealed that the song went through several iterations — including a re-recording of Julia’s second verse in a new key.
“It was kind of crazy,” Gryffin laughed. “But the result turned out amazing. I’m so happy with how it came together.”
When asked what advice he’d give to up-and-coming DJs or producers, Gryffin emphasized the importance of defining your sound early on.
“Have a mission statement for what you want your music to represent,” he said. “It’s not easy, but identity matters. Find something that feels personal — whether that’s a melody, a texture, or a certain emotional tone — and build around it.”
That focus on authenticity is what continues to set Gryffin apart, even as he experiments with new directions. After releasing multiple singles this year, Gryffin confirmed that another project is in the works.
“Yeah, I’m working on a new project right now,” he shared. “It’s still a work in progress, but I’ve already finished a few tracks that I’m really proud of. I can’t wait to share more soon.”
As for what’s next, the artist has a packed schedule ahead.
“I’m finishing the year strong with a few more shows,” Gryffin said. “Then I’ll take a short break before gearing up for 2026. It’s going to be a big year — new music, new visuals, and a lot of exciting tour dates.”
Gryffin’s set at Escape Halloween proved why he continues to be one of the most beloved names in melodic dance music. Balancing festival-ready drops with emotional resonance, he delivered a performance that reminded fans why they fell in love with his sound in the first place.
“It’s been such an incredible year,” he said with a smile. “I’m just grateful to keep creating and connecting with everyone through music.”
