After lighting up the stage at Escape Halloween 2025, DJ and producer Deorro sat down for an exclusive chat about his creative process, the power of nostalgia in music, and what fans can look forward to next. Known for blending Latin rhythms, emotional melodies, and high-energy drops, Deorro’s set proved once again why he’s one of the most versatile artists in dance music today. When asked about his approach to performing and why his music connects so strongly with audiences, Deorro said that for him, it all comes down to emotion.
“Music is something I don’t have to overthink — it’s about what you feel,” he shared. “The songs I gravitate toward are the ones that move you, the ones that have motion.”
He reflected on returning to his musical roots and rediscovering the sounds that shaped his early career.
“It’s powerful to go back to the music I used to play when I was younger,” he said. “It brings back memories and makes the music feel alive again.”
As Deorro reflected on how far he’s come, he spoke about learning to embrace growth without losing authenticity.
“When I look back, I used to chase certain hits or moments,” he admitted. “Now I realize you can’t force that. You just make what feels right and let it flow.”
The crowd at Escape Halloween could feel that energy. His set mixed classic Deorro anthems with fresh, unreleased material which is proof that he’s always evolving. Deorro’s openness to collaboration remains a defining part of his artistry. While he’s worked with global stars like Chris Brown, he says he’s constantly searching for new sounds and voices to inspire him.
“I’m obsessed with discovering new genres,” he said. “I love learning about how different cultures make music.”
When asked about dream collaborations, he mentioned artists with powerful emotional presence:
“Lewis Capaldi has an incredible voice, and Stromae — he’s a genius. It’d be amazing to blend their energy with what I do.”
Fans won’t have to wait long for more from Deorro. He confirmed he’s currently working on a new album — and it’s shaping up to be one of his most ambitious projects yet.
“I’m working on an album again, maybe even a double one,” he revealed. “I get so excited about new ideas that sometimes I start another track before finishing the last — but that’s part of the process.”
Deorro described his workflow as spontaneous and passion-driven, often producing new music right up until a show.
“I played a song tonight that I started yesterday,” he said with a grin. “That’s how much I love creating in the moment.”
Looking ahead, Deorro says 2026 will be a year full of new music, live shows, and deeper creative exploration.
“For sure, an album — and a lot of rumble,” he teased. “I just want to keep growing, experimenting, and sharing what makes people move.”
