Madonna's brother, Christopher Ciccone has passed away at age 63.
According to TMZ, Ciccone died in Michigan on Friday (October 4) following a lengthy battle with cancer. The "Material Girl" songstress and her brother were not only "tied at the hip" as siblings, but also as performers with Ciccone entering the scene as one of her backup dancers and evolving into her tour director, among other roles.
The creative wore many hats in the entertainment industry from dancer, to backstage dresser, to art director (for his sister's "Blonde Ambition" world tour), and even directed music videos for Dolly Parton and Tony Bennett!
TMZ mentioned that despite their inseparable bond, Madonna and Christopher did have a bit of a public riff in 2008 when he unveiled his biography, Life With My Sister Madonna, containing information that the "Vogue" standout was not fond of.
The siblings allegedly repaired their relationship in 2012, leaving their beef behind them as Ciccone fronted new ventures of his own. In addition to playing a huge role in Madonna's personal life and career, Ciccone also dabbled in interior design and even went on to create his own line of footwear.
News of the creative's death arrives just one month after the passing of Madonna's stepmother Joan Ciccone.
Madonna has yet to publicly comment on the death of her beloved younger brother as the world continues to mourn his passing.
Rest in peace, Christopher Ciccone.
