Kesha held an extremely hazardous kitchen utensil during her Thursday (August 1) afternoon set at this year's Lollapalooza, without knowing it wasn't a prop.

The "We R Who We R" songstress took the stage at the iconic Chicago music festival, dressed in a short, purse-inspired mini skirt, with fake blood painted across her arm. Fully prepared to dazzle the crowd, Kesha gripped what she thought was a prop knife, and waived it around the stage. Much to the artists disbelief, the large knife was no prop. She shared news of the risky performance to X the next day in utter disbelief, revealing that she was unaware of the true gravity of the situation at the time.

"Sooooo apparently the prop knife went missing and they replaced it with a real butcher knife stolen from the kitchen. and i didn’t know. till now. so watch that again…."

Footage captured by an audience member shows the "Blow" hitmaker swinging the knife around in close proximity to her face, as she takes 2010 track "Backstabber" to a whole new level. Despite mishandling such a dangerous object, Kesha remained unharmed throughout her performance.

Information regarding how the fake prop knife went missing and who handed the star an actual butcher knife has yet to be revealed as the festival proceeds. Megan Moroney, Zedd, Reneè Rapp, and SZA are just a few of the many standouts slated to take the stage as part of Friday's (August 2) star-studded lineup.
