Doechii is fed up with Azealia Banks.
The "Alter Ego" rapper recently posted a photo of herself and asked fans what she should name her growing fanbase. In the comments, fans came up with names and debated which ones she should consider. On Tuesday night, April 9, Banks decided to chime in with a suggestion. "Definitely should call them the “wannabe’s," she wrote. Doechii immediately snapped back.
"The first time you came for me I let it slide outta respect for my elders," Doechii replied. "It’s not my fault you sellin bussy soap and I’m sellin platinum records. Leave me alone PLEASE."
The comment about her fanbase was the last straw for Doechii. The friction between both artists has been building after Banks called the TDE signee "ugly" in a recent Instagram post. The "212" rapper told her fans about a time when she dodged a collaboration with Doechii and called her an "ugly version" of her.
"They find this kind of like ugly version of... well she's even a version she's just ugly," she said. "and I hate to call a dark skin girl ugly because she just is ugly. She'd be ugly if she was light skinned. They find this ugly girl and they sick her on Azealia Banks."
Fans piled on to Banks' recent comment and defended the rising star. Doechii's response comes after she attended the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards in Los Angeles. She was nominated for Best New Artist and TikTok Bop of the Year.
