A Chinese TikTok food blogger has been fined nearly $20,000 after filming herself while cooking and eating a great white shark that she bought online. In a statement released by Chinese officials, the blogger, whose name is Jin but is known on socials as Tizi, will be fined 125,000 yuan ($18,522) for illegally buying and eating a wild animal. During the video, Jin said, “It may look vicious, but its meat is truly very tender.” Eating shark meat can be extremely harmful to humans, as it often contains toxins like mercury and ciguatera.
