According to KTLA, LA County launched a 3-year guaranteed income program for 300 youth. The LA County Department of Public Social Services introduced a pilot program for 300 youth ages 18-24 to receive guaranteed income of $1,000. Each on of the 300 young people must be enrolled in General Relief Opportunities for Work, or GROW Program to receive the payments. LA County Supervisor Hilda Solis says:
“These young people had to develop personal strength and resilience to overcome so many challenges in their lives. Much like all of us, they just need an opportunity to put their talents and abilities to work. Offering guaranteed income could very well be the key to unlocking their full potential."
