The 2022 Industry Dance Awards & Cancer Benefit Show took place last night in Hollywood, hosted by So You Think You Can Dance alumni, Will Thomas, and Dancing With The Stars professional dancer, Britt Stewart. Among the night’s special awards, Adam Shankman received the Dance Visionary Award, presented by Melissa McCarthy; Allison Holker Boss received the New Media Influencer Award, presented by husband Stephen “tWitch” Boss; JoJo Siwa received Trailblazer Award, presented by former DWTS partner Jenna Johnson and more! DWTS judge, Derek Hough, and fiancé Hayley Erbert were also on-site to present and were seen visiting with Dancers Against Cancer Hope Story dancers – young performers who have had or are currently battling cancer. The night also saw a Pussycat Dolls reunion with group member Jessica Sutta on-site to present The Pussycat Dolls creator and MTV VMA-winning choreographer, ROBIN ANTIN, with the Dance Icon Award.
Along with celebrating this past year’s competitive dance season, and special awards to notable industry performers, the show also benefited Dancers Against Cancer – an amazing charity that provides financial assistance to dance educators, dancers, and family members impacted by cancer. After accepting her Trailblazer Award, JoJo Siwa presented a special donation to the charity saying,
“Dancers Against Cancer was the first organization that I ever worked with. I love this organization so much and I am so grateful that tonight I was able to give back and donate $100,000 to one of the best charities there is.”
