NASA revealed new images this week from their $10 billion James Webb Space Telescope, which include a foamy blue and orange shot of a dying star
These new images were shared on Monday at the White House and show us the most in depth viewpoints of the universe ever taken. The Webb Telescope uses infrared light spectrum that permits the telescope to see through both cosmic dust and faraway light. NASA Administrator Bill Nelson tells us, “Every image is a new discovery, and each will give humanity a view of the humanity that we’ve never seen before,” when looking at the formation of stars and devouring black holes.
NASA celebrated the launch of these photos at the NASA Goddard Space Center where they presented cheerleaders with gold matching pompoms, the same colors as the telescope's mirrors. Click here to see the photos.
