Biden Signs Executive Order On Abortion Access After Supreme Court Overturn

Today, President Joe Biden signed an executive order to protect access to abortion after facing pressure from many Americans due to the Supreme Courts overturn of Roe V. Wade two weeks ago.

According to ABC 7, the order is "intended to mitigate some potential penalties women seeking abortion may face after the ruling but are limited in their ability to safeguard access to abortion nationwide." Biden said that Congress would need to restore access to abortion in over a dozen states where they already implemented strict limits or complete bans after the Supreme Courts ruling.

"The fastest way to restore Roe is to pass a national law," Biden said. "The challenge is go out and vote. For God's sake, there is an election in November. Vote. Vote. Vote. Vote!"

Head to ABC 7 for more on what everything Biden had to say.
