Are your kids constantly distracted by Instagram, Twitter, TikTok or other social media apps? Well you might want to try this method to get your children to stay off of social media.
Lorna Klefsaas from Motley, Minnesota, had a great idea to help her son stay off social media during his teenage years. According to Fox11, Lorna offered her then 12 year old son Sivert, her youngest of four children, $1,800 to stay off social media for six years and he immediately agreed.
"I watched social media cause stress, anxiety, and hurt feelings in my other kids and I loved the idea of coming up with a way to spare Sivert from that," said Lorna. She trusted her son that he would stay off social media but had also given him the option to quit.
Sivert said it wasn't too hard to stay off social media even though he missed out on trends and being able to connect with new people that he just met. He did learn a lot about human behavior and was thankful he didn't have to go through all the drama and negative effects that social media has on people at such a young age.
