LAUSD announced on Thursday, July 29th that they will require students and staff returning for weekly in person learning to receive a weekly COVID-19 test, regardless of vaccination status. The interim Superintendent Megan Reilly said:
This is in accordance with the most recent guidances for LA County Department of Public Health.
Previously LAUSD was not going to require COVID-19 testing for vaccinated staff and students, but this will no change due to an increase in COVID cases. Staff and students are able to sign up for testing here. School returns for LAUSD starting August 16, 2021 and students and staff will have to show a negative COVID test before attending the first day of school, and there will mobile teams will be present to provide testing.
