Friends and collaborators SZA and Cardi B are both going to be performing at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival - could they get together for a surprise performance? SZA did provide a feature on Cardi B's debut album Invasion of Privacy, so they have a history of working together. Let's look at the evidence.
TMZ happened to catch SZA and her crew walking around West Hollywood on Thursday April 12th after dining out at rapper Nas' chicken restaurant Sweet Chick. When asked if a surprise set with Cardi was a possibility, she responded with "that would be gnarly. I would be honored." After being further pressed by the paparazzo on confirmation she said "I can't confirm on her set, that's not fair!"
Doesn't sound like a direct denial - that's at least enough information to start building some hype!
Additionally - when you look at their set times on the Coachella weekend one lineup schedule, they couldn't be farther apart. SZA's performance on the Coachella stage is Friday April 13th at 9:55 PM right before The Weeknd. Cardi B's set is to go down on the Coachella stage Sunday April 15th at 6:00PM.
That leaves plenty of time for the girls to clear their schedules and pop in to say 'hello' during each other's performances!
What do you think? Should Cardi B and SZA join each other on stage for a song or two? It would certainly be one of the festival's most talked about moments for 2018.
SZA and Cardi B are two of the biggest winners in music within the past year. SZA dropped her GRAMMY nominated R&B opus CTRL and Cardi B dominated the charts with single Bodak Yellow along with her critically acclaimed debut album Invasion of Privacy (certified gold by the RIAA).
The fact that the two women linked up to collaborate on a track for Cardi's album - called I Do - was totally a no-brainer. The song alone on YouTube already has over 6.4 million views and is being claimed a fan-favorite by the ladies' stans on social media.
In addition to SZA, Cardi B's other Invasion of Privacy collaborators Migos will also be performing a set at Coachella. Since the lineup was announced for the 2018 Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival fan speculation that they would get together has been high. Group member Offset is Cardi B's fiance and baby-daddy-to-be and their song Drip was released as a single before the album dropped at the beginning of April.
