The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a historic landmark and huge part of Los Angeles culture. Every tourist needs to make sure they see the stars before leaving Hollywood!
While these stars represent celebrities and the long-lasting career that they have had, some stars on the Walk of Fame are a bit unexpected. Here are some of the more random stars that we didn't even realize were on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!
1. Snow White
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was the first full-length animated film ever created, so in theory, it makes sense that the star of the movie gets her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It's just not something we would have ever expected!
2. Shrek
Shrek has become such a wildly known character over the years. It's impossible to forget the story of an ogre who lands a princess in the end! The movie was such a success that they deemed him worthy of his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. (Personally, I think Donkey deserves one as well. Name a more iconic duo!)
3. The Munchkins
As a collective, the munchkins from Wizard Of Oz were awarded their own star. There were 122 adults and 12 children playing the munchkins, meaning this star was dedicated to a whopping 134 people!
Fun fact: Judy Garland, also known as Dorothy herself, has two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. One is for motion pictures and one is for recording.
4. Disneyland
Walt Disney's famous theme park Disneyland received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2005. On its 50th anniversary, they decided the park was worthy of this prestigious honor. They placed the star across from the Walk of Fame near Disney's Soda Fountain. The star has a special icon on it: Sleeping Beauty's castle.
5. Lassie
The character Lassie is a female Rough Collie who starred in a novel and series of films based on the dog. She is one of three dogs with a star on the Walk of Fame — the other two are Rin Tin Tin and Strongheart.
6. Winnie the Pooh
"Winnie the Pooh, Winnie the Pooh. Tubby little cubby all stuffed with fluff..."
In 2006, the honey-loving bear from the Hundred Acre Wood received his star on the Walk of Fame!
While we wouldn't have really expected to see any of these on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, they have all rightfully earned their place there due to their impact on the entertainment industry.
