Aaron Carter and Nick Carter's dad Robert Gene Carter suddenly passed away at the age of 65.
There are very few details about the cause of death but we know he died during the night on Tuesday, May 16th.
The brothers announced the news on Twitter on Wednesday.
"I am heartbroken to share the news that our father, Robert, passed away last night..." Nick tweeted. "While we learn more about the cause of death, and begin the grieving process, we ask that our privacy be respected at this difficult time."
Aaron Carter also posted about his father, sharing photos with him.
In early 2012, Aaron and Nick's sister Leslie Carter died at age 25. Robert Carter leaves behind his wife Jane and his kids, including Aaron, Nick and sister Angel
