Crayola Reveals The Color Of Their New Crayon

Remember when Crayola got rid of their yellow Dandelion crayon back in March? Well they just revealed their new color, vibrant blue inspired by the discovery of YInMn Blue pigment in 2009 by scientists at Oregon State University.

Melanie Boulden, Senior Vice President of U.S. and Global Marketing at Crayola, said "fans in North America have told us through previous polls and surveys that blue is their favorite color." So there you go, everyone who's favorite color is blue got what they wanted!

But wait... there's more!

Crayola needs help naming the new color. Your ideas can be submitted on the company's website through June 2nd.

The list will be narrowed down on July 1st and people can vote on the top five names. The final decision will be made in early September and the new crayon will debut in late 2017!
