Legendary composer Hans Zimmer made his music festival debut at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival on Sunday and surprised his millennial audience with a cameo from Pharrell.
Zimmer -- known for his movie scores including The Dark Knight, The Lion King, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Inception -- invited the singer to deliver the liberating track "Freedom," while he was backed by a boisterous live orchestra. In addition to Pharrell's surprise appearance, Lebo M. graced the stage to perform "Shadowland" from The Lion King.
Weekend 1 of Coachella concluded Sunday night with Lorde, Kehlani, DJ Khaled, headliner Kendrick Lamar, and many others. During the star-studded weekend, Future brought out Drake, Migos, and Ty Dolla Sign, while Nav's set saw a surprise performance from The Weeknd.
Weekend 2, which sees the same artists like Lady Gaga, Radiohead, Dillon Francis, Travis Scott, and others, launches this Friday (April 21) and will run until Sunday (April 23).
