Eating More Of These Foods Will Keep You From Getting Sick

If you've been getting sick a lot lately OR just don't have time to get sick and need a way to stay healthy, here are some foods to stock up on right NOW.

Yogurt: probiotics are the "healthy" kind of bacteria that keeps disease-causing germs out of the gut and intestinal tract. Add this into your diet by making it your breakfast or a base for smoothies.

Hummus: chickpeas - the base for hummus - are packed with vitamin B6 which is critical to the functioning of your immune system. Hummus is especially important for vegetarians because other major sources of B6 is chicken and fish.

"Vitamin a fortified" milk and cereal: Vitamin A keeps many different parts of your body healthy - skin, tissues in mouth, stomach, intestines and respiratory systems - and can also be found in foods such as kale, sweet potatoes and bell peppers, but the milk and cereal is great for getting vitamin A to kids and into your morning routine.

Cinnamon: cinnamon fights the pathogens that cause illness so it is suggested you add about a 1/2 teaspoon to your diet per day. It's easy too, sprinkle it on oatmeal or fruit or add it to your coffee in the morning.
