It's really hard to imagine hit songs without their rightful singer... like, 'Toxic' without Britney?? It just feels wrong.
But there's quite a few popular songs that were originally intended for other people. Your mind is going to be like WUUUUUT?
Britney Spears' "Toxic" was meant for Kylie Minogue
"Come & Get It" was supposed to be meant for Rihanna... not Selena Gomez
Sia's songs "Chandelier" AND "Cheap Thrills" were also first pitched to Rihanna
I'm seeing a trend. Because Rihanna ALSO passed on Miley Cyrus' "We Can't Stop"
And, as we all know, Ed Sheeran originally wrote "Shape Of You" for Rihanna too.
But then there's Rihanna's song 'S.O.S.' that Christina Milian almost sang that one:
Britney Spears almost put Lady Gaga and Beyonce's song 'Telephone' on her Circus album!
Britney also rejected "Umbrella" WHAT
Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone" was turned down by Hilary Duff and P!nk!
And "Destiny's Child" chose not to record "Miss Independent"
