A new study from the US Geological Survey is showing that Southern California could be overdue for a major earthquake. Ughhh!
Research shows that earthquakes have occurred on average every 100 years and the last one was 160 years ago along the San Andreas fault.
Land on both sides of this fault has been pushing against each other more than 1 inch a year since 1857. With all that energy accumulating it could be released as a major earthquake.
This is not the type of news anyone likes to hear, but it's always good to be reminded and prepare ahead in the event something terrible like this does happen. But, fingers crossed it doesn't.
