Bob Costas Is 'Passing The Torch' For NBC Olympics Primetime Announcer

Say it ain't so?!

It's hard to imagine the Olympics happening without the one and only Bob Costas hosting the primetime slot on NBC! But, sadly for us, he is 'passing the torch' on and will not host next year's Winter Olympics.

NBC announced today that Bob will be passing on his duties as primetime host to Mike Tircio:

Bob has been hosting the primetime Olympics coverage since 1992 (THAT IS 25 YEARS YOU GUYS).

In a statement, Bob said: "It has been both a privilege and an incredible personal and professional experience to have been part of NBC's Olympic coverage all these years. It's been a wonderful run, but I just felt now was the right time to step away and I'm grateful that NBC left that decision to me."

We will miss you Bob!!

The Winter Olympics begin in 364 days in PyeongChang. So, you know, prepare yourselves.
