Cirque du Soleil is back in Los Angeles with Corteo, which is a show that "follows a clown watching his own funeral taking place in a carnival atmosphere, as quietly caring angels watch over him."

In Italian, Corteo, means "a joyous procession, a festive parade imagined by a clown" and Cirque du Soleil has captured the meaning so beautifully.
The show brings together the passion of the characters with the grace and power of the acrobat to plunge the audience into a theatrical world of awe, comedy and spontaneity situated in a mysterious space between heaven and earth.
In the City of Angels, Los Angeles is set to get a new and enticing twist to its namesake, as the show juxtaposes light with darkl, the ridiculous with the tragic and the magic of perfection with the charm of imperfection.
We were lucky enough to check out the performance and it was absolutely breathtaking. When you walk into the theater, you'll see the beautiful curtains, which are actually inspired by the Eiffel Tower and hand painted, along with chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and it just instantly gives you that majestic feel. As the show begins, you'll be taken along the journey of Mauro as he transitions into heaven while looking back on his life. The storytelling is beautiful but the stunts and acrobatic production is truly amazing. The amount of strength and all the practice/training they had to go through to keep the show moving so seamlessly is truly awe-inspiring. There's even a moment in the show where the audience gets to interact with the performers and that was definitely one of my favorite parts of the show. You must check out Corteo before it leaves L.A. because it is definitely a show you want to experience.
As the show draws on the extreme emotions of the human spirit, it highlights the strength and fragility of the clown, as well as his wisdom and kindness, to illustrate the portion of humanity that is within each of us. The music turns lyrical and playful carrying Corteo through a timeless celebration in which illusion teases reality.
