Ever since I moved out here to Los Angeles, I've been trying to immerse myself in the community. Every weekend my boyfriend and I try to find a new event, restaurant or flea market to attend. We have been supporting a bunch of black owned businesses in the area and recently found out about a monthly pop up festival. The event is called "Black on the Block." It features over 100 vendors that are all black owned. They have food, bars, shopping, and music by some of the hottest DJs in LA.
My boyfriend and I were blown away by the experience. The event happens every month at Wisdome LA. There are food and drink vendors outside, and a range of vendors inside like clothing, hair care, skin care, teeth whitening and more. If felt good to be in a space where black businesses could flourish and be celebrated. The event wasn't just a place to shop, it was a whole party as well. There were people dancing, vibing and having a good time.
This is definitely an experience everyone should check out. The next one goes down May 29th!
