Instagram Finally Did Something About The Crappy Algorithm

Finally! For months and months we have been complaining about Instagram's crappy algorithm. It seems as if my entire feed was suggested posts and pages to follow. It was rare that I actually saw the content of the people I was following. It was especially annoying for content creators who haven't been getting a lot interaction on their posts because it's not showing up on the top of their followers timeline.

Well thankfully our cries have been heard. According to The Verge, Instagram just announced today that they are introducing two new features to the platform. There will now be a "following" and a "favorites" section. Under the "following" tab, we'll finally be able to see our friends content in the order they were posted. That means chronological order is back!

As for the "favorites" section, users will be able to favorite up to 50 random accounts and that will shake up your algorithm so that you see similar content higher up on your feed. Pretty cool, huh?
