Cal State LA will become one of two new COVID-19 mass vaccination sites in California.
Officials expect the new Cal State LA vaccination site to administer thousands of shots each day. The new sites come as part of the Biden administration's efforts to establish 100 vaccination supersites nationwide in the first 100 days. The vaccine supersites will reportedly be co-run by FEMA and Cal Office of Emergency Services.
According to ABC7, FEMA plans is to start with 6,000 doses per day. Gov. Gavin Newsom announced the Oakland-Alameda Coliseum will be another vaccination site.
Both sites will begin administering COVID-19 vaccinations on Feb. 16.
