Mariachi Princess Ángela Aguilar Releases Selena Tribute EP

The 16-year-old Mariachi princess, Ángela Aguilar, has released a tribute album to Selena Quintanilla.

The Mexican-American singer reimagines seven of Selena's most famous songs: "Baila Esta Cumbia", "Como la Flor", “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom”, “No Me Queda Más", "Si Una Vez", "Amor Prohibido" and "Dreaming of You / I Could Fall In Love".

The singer went to Instagram to share her excitement about the tribute EP, writing: “I present this EP as a tribute and in gratitude to Selena. With an admiration of a Mexican-American woman who, along with her family, expressed her love for music and the stage through her dances and songs.

Besides coming from the iconic Aguilar family, this 16-year-old songstress received her first GRAMMY nomination for Best Regional Mexican Music Album 2019. Additionally, She earned Lady Gaga's praise for her cover of "Shallow".
