Netflix Lands Walter Mercado Documentary 'Mucho Mucho Amor'

A documentary on the life of the late Walter Mercado is coming to Netflix.

The streaming giant has acquired the rights to the documentary titled Mucho Mucho Amor, ahead of its premiere at the Sundance film festival, The Hollywood Reporter reports.

THR adds Mucho Mucho Amor is directed by Cristina Costantini and Kareem Tabsch, and will go deep into the iconic astrologer's life and legacy. Legends in the Latino community such as Eugenio Derbez, Raul De Molina and Lin-Manuel Miranda are reportedly making guest appearances in the documentary, remembering the Latino icon.

THR also adds Mucho Mucho Amor is competing in the U.S. doc competition section at the Sundance film festival on January 24th before streaming on Netflix summer 2020.

Mercado passed away in November 2019 in San Juan, Puerto Rico at 87-years-old. His appeal went far beyond astrology. Mercado became an influential symbol of love and acceptance.
