John Legend was named the Sexiest Man Alive and now he's adding more to his resume by joining forces with an all-female mariachi group.
The Voice coach lent his voice to the all-female Mariachi group Flor de Toloache for their single Quisiera and let's just say John Legend absolutely killed it!
Flor de Toloache is an all-women, New York-based mariachi group, whom are huge fans of John Legend. John joins the group, comprised of Mireya Ramos and Shae Fiol in the video for the set in a diner.
The group spoke with Billboard about their initial reaction to hearing the Grammy winner’s verse. “Of course, he killed it. John Legend recorded it in Spanish. This track also means a lot to us since it’s by one of our favorite composers and ‘paisano’ mío Juan Luis Guerra.”
The ladies of Flor de Toloache also told Billboard that they were super excited to work with John Legend because they've been huge fans of his since seeing him live in 2004. They also told Billboard that the group agreed but questioned whether he’d want to sing in Spanish.
Quisiera translates to "I would like it All" and in the song we see the All of Me singer perfectly sing his way through the second verse. The music video, which the group called “something dreamy,” shows a romance sparking between two waitresses after one of them is discriminated against for not being a native English speaker.
