Chris Perez Is Releasing His Own Hot Sauce Brand

Chris Perez, who was married to Selena Quintanilla, is releasing his own hot sauce.

The musician is set to debut his hot sauce brand this weekend after promoting it was coming on his social media pages.

Called "Perez Pepper Sauce", this new business was co-founded by the husband of the Tejano legend Selena. According to Chron.com, Perez has been working with business partner John Gomez to bring "Tongues Ablaze LLC" to fruition since August. On Nov. 16, the small-batch hot sauce will be available online for worldwide shipping and at Trader's Village.

Fans of Selena and the iconic 1997 biopic may remember the scene where Chris Perez pulls out a bottle of hot sauce from a holster strapped to his belt. Yes, his love for hot sauce is real. The real Perez loves hot sauce, and according to a news release, the idea for the company came about when Gomez noticed the musician was carrying chili peppers in his tote.

Perez and partner John Gomez worked with CaJohns Fiery Foods to develop the sauce. They hope to eventually offer various hot sauces, BBQ sauces, salsas, rub and snacks.

A fun fact about the packaging and labeling of the bottle. Chris Perez is a Leo, so the bottle's lion logo, he says, reflects his personality. Chron.com adds that limited editions of the hot sauce will come in a leather-stamped holster.
