Taylor Swift To Receive Icon Award At 2019 Teen Choice Awards

Taylor Swift's Lover era is bringing a major accolade as the pop titan is getting the first-ever Icon Award from the 2019 Teen Choice Awards.

Fox made the big announcement on Thursday (July 25) with a lengthy list of her accomplishments. "As one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with more than 50 million albums sold, Taylor Swift is a pop culture icon whose accolades and achievements go beyond topping music charts and selling out stadiums worldwide,” the network said in a statement. "Swift is also one of today’s biggest social influencers, using her voice and platform to inspire and create positive change.”

Swift is one of the many stars set to hit this year’s ceremony, including Robert Downey Jr., Jessica Alba, Madison Beer, Lauren Jauregui, Noah Centineo, Candace Cameron Bure and John Stamos. On the award front, the Jonas Brothers are also accepting the Decade Award during the two-hour ceremony, which airs live August 11 at 8 PM ET.

Swift might be the woman of the hour during the ceremony, but she's also the new star of Capital One's "Savior" card campaign. For her new collaboration with the company, the titan filmed a TV spot for the venture, which sees her attempt (and adorably fail) at bartending and waitressing duties. All promo is gearing up for the release of her new LP, Lover, which is scheduled to drop on August 23, and will include her recently released cut, "The Archer."
