'The Big Bang Theory' Artifacts Headed To The Smithsonion

One of America's favorite TV shows will soon be a part of American history. The Smithsonian's National Museum of American History has acquired iconic pieces from The Big Bang Theory to add to its collection.

The news was revealed by Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch during a joint cast appearance last night onThe Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

If you're wondering which iconic items from the show you will find at The Smithsonian, here are a few: Sheldon Cooper’s Super Hero shirt, Howard Wolowitz’s dickie and belt buckle, Amy Farrah Fowler’s knee-length skirt and other items join the museum’s collection.

The Big Bang Theory earned its spot in TV and American history as the longest-running multi-camera series in television history, with 279 episodes and 12 seasons.

According to Deadline, The Smithsonian sees its mission as preserving the nation’s memory, and its collection includes such iconic items as Archie Bunker’s chair fromAll in the Family, Kevin Arnold’s NY Jets jacket fromThe Wonder Years, and an annotated script fromThe X-Filespilot episode and FBI badges, among many other items.

No display date for The Big Bang Theory memorabilia has been announced.
