The College-Admissions Scandal Is Getting A T.V. Show

Just less than 2 month after the Justice Department charged 50 people for their involvement in the largest college-admissions cheating scandal in U.S. history, Hollywood is ready to bring it to the small screen.

It was only a matter of time before it happened. Deadline reported that Annapurna Television has optioned the rights to Accepted, an upcoming book fromWall Street Journal reporters Melissa Korn and Jen Levitz that will detail the admissions scandal and the extravagant, illegal lengths to which parents went to secure their children’s admission into prestigious colleges like Yale, Stanford, U.C.L.A., Georgetown, and U.S.C.

Emmy-winning American Crime StorywriterD.V. Devincentiswill adapt the book, which is being published by the Portfolio division of Penguin Random House, into a limited series.

The book will be published by Portfolio, part of the Penguin Random House. No word yet on when we can expect to binge the television series, but we'll keep you updated!

Actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin -- along with Lori's husband, Mossimo Giannulli -- were indicted in a scheme to influence the admissions of their children into a number of prominent universities.

Sue Naegle, Ali Krug and Patrick Chu will produce the college admissions bribery scandal project on behalf of Annapurna Television.

Korn and Levitz are repped by Eric Lupfer of Fletcher & Company and Linda Lichter of LGNAF. DeVincentis is repped by UTA and Barnes Morris.
