5 Ed Sheeran Lyrics We Live For

"Perfect" by Ed Sheeran was by far one of our fav songs from 2017 so it was no surprise when it was nominated for Best Lyrics at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. Check out this compilation of some of our favorite Ed lyrics from over the years!

#1: One

"Take my hand and my heart and soul, I will only have these eyes for you."

This song might be one of the most underrated songs in the history of ever. If you haven't heard it, you need to listen now.

#2: Eraser

"And to the next generation, inspiration’s allowed. The world may be filled with hate, but keep erasing it now, somehow.”

Aside from Ed Sheeran's endless romantic lyrics, we appreciate the fact that Ed sings just as many inspirational lyrics like this.

#3: Supermarket Flowers

“Oh I’m in pieces, it’s tearing me up, but I know a heart that’s broke is a heart that’s been loved.”

There's not many songs that seriously pull at our heart strings quite like Supermarket Flowers. This song was written specifically for Ed's grandma who passed away when he was almost finished making his album, Divide.

#4: Give Me Love

"And it's been a while but I still feel the same, maybe I should let you go. You know I'll fight my corner and that tonight I'll call ya, after my blood is drowning in alcohol. No I just wanna hold ya"

These are definitely some of the most relatable lyrics Ed has written in his musical career. I think everyone can agree we have all felt this way about a person at some point or another. You can always count on Ed Sheeran to be able to put exactly how you feel into words!

#5: Don't

"This is not the way you realized what you wanted, it's a bit too much, too late if I'm honest."

The lyrics in Don't are definitely one of our favorites because of how well Ed tells a story of the beginning to the quick end of a relationship in just 4 minutes. Not to mention, this is by far one of Ed's most revealing songs.

Don't miss out on Ed Sheeran's performance at the iHeartRadio Music Awards! Tune in on Sunday, March 11th at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT to see this lyrical genius kill it on stage. Buy your tickets here
